This post describes some activities using vocabulary bags to help your students revise recently-covered lexis.
In this post, I discuss the value and limitations of focussing on the most frequent words of English in class, and share two lesson activities which focus on uncovering language that students already use and find important, or want to use.
Level: elementary to pre-intermediate.
Ages: kids, teens and adults.
Type: competitive games; controlled and freer practice using worksheets.
Skills: speaking; listening.
Language focus: vocabulary and grammar – revising prepositions of movement.
In this post, I explain how to use a vocabulary range finder to help you minimise the number of low-frequency words in a text. I explain when and why this can be a very useful thing to do, and list a couple of alternative uses of the range finder as well.
In this post, I share some diary templates I’ve made, and some ideas on how your learners could use them, hopefully to enjoy themselves whilst revising vocabulary and putting new words and expressions to use.
